What started out as a failed protein muffin bake, turned into a very successful protein brownie bites and protein cookie bake.. with a lot of laughs along the way 😂

Recipe ⬇️
-1 1/4 cup salted butter
-2 cups sugar
-2 eggs
-2ish tsp vanilla
-2 cups flour
-1/3 cup Arbonne essential meal protein (chocolate)
-3 tbsp Arbonne protein boost
-3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1tsp baking soda
-1/2tsp salt
-butterscotch chips

Bake at 350

These were actually a huge hit with my family and I can confirm they are all gone!

This weekend I hosted my first Fizz + Flow with @danicooperdiaries at @oyfstonebridge , and it was so wonderful!

We connected, had a private Yang Yin class, had some Inner Calm (because it was too late for Fizz), and strangers turned friends as we continued the connection afterwards sitting around a table with some food! It was such an amazing evening.

Love that @oyfstonebridge offers opportunities to rent the space for private parties.. would be so great for birthdays, bachelorettes, team building, ANYTHING!

Proud of us!

A couple of months ago Nova asked me if I would run with her in the Family Fun Run of the @saskmarathon .. I immediately said yes, even though I haven’t participated in a run in over a decade!! But I have to admit.. I was nervous.

My body has gone through injuries, and changes, and I kept on saying ‘I don’t exactly have a runners physique’.. but I realized I was just paying attention to all of the limiting beliefs I had about myself.

Not once did I hear Nova say ‘I don’t think I can do this’.. or ‘I’m not a runner so maybe I shouldn’t’ OR ‘mom your body doesn’t look like one that can run’.. I had to remind myself that the thoughts I had needed to be challenged.. both for me and my sweet girl.

We got to the run, I was nervous.. and so was Nova. But we did it together! And I’m so freaking happy I said yes. We cheered each other on, we talked, we laughed, we encouraged each other.. and getting to experience that with my baby girl is an experience I will never forget.

I don’t have A runners physique.. I have MY runners physique. And I’m proud of us!

2 things I wholeheartedly believe to be true..

1- body autonomy is never up for debate.
I do not use a GLP1, but I fully support every persons right to make INFORMED choices about their bodies.
Whether someone chooses to use a GLP1, focus on nutrition and lifestyle, pursue other treatments, or do none of the above.. that decision is THEIRS.. no one else’s. Body autonomy matters!

2- you are worthy.. always.. full stop.
A persons worth is not determined by the size of their body, weight, appearance, wrinkles (or lack of), or any of the choices they make for their body. Worth is not something that can be gained or lost, for any reason.. it is inherent.
You do not become more valuable by losing weight, and you do not become less valuable by gaining it. Or vice versa. You are worthy today, exactly as you are.. that will never change.

We can support people in pursuing the goals that feel right for them, even when they look different that the ones we have set out for ourselves, while also recognizing that their humanity, dignity, and value have never been up for debate.

So please know, my page is a place of support. I will always have the conversations, I will always look to understand, I will always advocate for self-love.. but I will also always advocate for people to make choices that are right for them.. without attaching judgement, morality, or value to their bodies!

I recently spoke to a psychologist about losing resilience. She told me that when someone is in a constant state of survival, their resilience tends to fade because the nervous system is always preparing for battle.

She explained to me that finding opportunities to rewire the nervous system is what helps the resilience return. It isn’t lost for good, but the body and mind need safety, rest, and regulation to remember they no longer need to survive every moment of every day.

Healing isn’t about becoming better overnight.. it’s about slowly teaching yourself that you are safe enough to soften again. That your guard can come down and you can see the beautiful moments in life as they come.

The goal was to raise $10,000 for @bbbssaskatoon at the @bartenderchallenge fundraiser.. and I did it.. $12,190 was my total! As a team, the rest of the ‘bartenders’ and I raised a total of $98,855 for Big Brothers Big Sisters Saskatoon, a total to be proud of! That money WILL change lives.

When I first got asked to be a participant in this years @bartenderchallenge for @bbbssaskatoon I was so excited and honoured.. and then immediately following those feelings I had an immense rush of nerves and pressure. The challenge was to raise $10,000 each, and imposter syndrome kicked in. What if I don’t raise enough? What if I let them down? What if no one supports me?

I know how much these fundraisers mean for organizations like these, who rely on these funds in order to make their operations happen. And I know how much mentorship programs like BBBS mean to young people’s lives.

I decided on two personal goals for the challenge! 1. To raise as much awareness about Big Brothers Big Sisters as I could and 2. To bring in community. And I’m happy to say, I think I CRUSHED these goals!

My fundraising efforts would not have been possible without the 45 (yes!!! 45!!!!) incredible businesses who said YES to supporting me and BBBS. Whether as a title sponsor or as a silent auction donor.. I want to say a MASSIVE thank you to these businesses!
